I had a dream that I was holding a plastic bag; the bag became increasingly heavy until it was impossible to move. However, there was nothing inside of it.

To see or use a plastic bag in your dream represents the temporary burdens and responsibilities that you are carrying with you. I felt that my burden during this phase of my life was not experimenting enough with mediums that were unfamiliar to me.I began using single use plastic bags as the context of my next project, using photography as the unfamiliar medium to capture them through.

In the right lighting, these images are uniquely aesthetic. The bags had a texture that resembled a staggered rock face. The more scrunched the bag, the more convincing the effect.
